A couple of weeks ago Joe and I got invited to stay the weekend at The Dove Inn in Golden, CO. Even though it was only a half hour drive from our house in Denver, we were so excited for the opportunity to "get away" and chill out for a couple of days.
If you've never been to Golden, it's well worth the trip, even if you just have a couple of days! It's a charming little miner's town full of unique shops, and great local eats! We are already planning a day trip to go tubing this summer!
When we walked in to The Dove Inn we were blown away at how beautifully renovated this 1800's victorian inn was. They did a beautiful job updating and modernizing the space without removing the charm that only comes with age. The "lobby" is an open concept living room / dining room / kitchen and it's all beautiful.
There is a coffee station where you can either create your own pour over or french press masterpiece or you can enjoy a nitro cold brew or kombucha on tap. I spent most of my time there. They have a little tutorial set up featuring local coffee shops that teach you how to create the perfect coffee!
There are several different rooms that range from quaint and cozy to a full living space. We stayed in the Castle Rock Suite which has a full kitchen which is always amazing especially if you're staying for an extended period of time.
The Dove Inn is literally half a block from the main street which is full of amazing restaurants, shops, and even a great park! We didn't have to drive anywhere during our entire stay! Our two favorite spots were Woody's Pizza, which introduced us to the concept of dipping your crust in honey *mind blown, and Abejas. We recommend making a reservation because we tried walking in and were unsuccessful. We did manage to get a table for Sunday brunch though and it was totally worth the wait. The baguette french toast was ahhhhmazing.
One of my fave things about this B&B is the owners. They're the most adorable little family that purchased the inn back in December, then completely renovated it themselves! It was a total labor of love and they killed it ya'll. It's the perfect combination of charming Bed & Breakfast and luxe hotel! I mean, the photos speak for themselves and yet do not do it justice.
